77 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
88 AN ACT
99 relating to county notification requirements for incomplete plat
1010 applications.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Section 232.0025, Local Government Code, is
1313 amended by amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (b-1) to
1414 read as follows:
1515 (b) If a person submits a plat application to the
1616 commissioners court that does not include all of the documentation
1717 or other information required by Subsection (a), the commissioners
1818 court or the county authority responsible for approving plats shall
1919 [, not later than the 10th business day after the date the
2020 commissioners court receives the application,] notify the
2121 applicant of the missing documents or other information not later
2222 than:
2323 (1) the 10th business day after the date the
2424 commissioners court receives the application; or
2525 (2) the 30th day after the date the commissioners
2626 court receives the application, if the county has a population less
2727 than 850,000.
2828 (b-1) The commissioners court or the county authority
2929 responsible for approving plats shall allow an applicant to timely
3030 submit the missing documents or other information for a plat
3131 application that does not include all of the documentation or other
3232 information required by Subsection (a).
3333 SECTION 2. Section 232.0025, Local Government Code, as
3434 amended by this Act, applies only to a plat application filed on or
3535 after the effective date of this Act.
3636 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
