| 11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 84, Election Code, is |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | amended by adding Section 84.0112 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Sec. 84.0112. OFFICIAL APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS. (a) |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | The secretary of state shall prescribe instructions to be printed |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | for the officially prescribed application form for an early voting |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | ballot. The instructions must: |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (1) be presented in portrait orientation on a single |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | piece of paper that is 8-1/2 by 11 inches; |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (2) be printed in Calibri or Aptos font in at least |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | 12-point font or the largest font size that allows the instructions |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | to fit on a single piece of paper, as determined by the secretary; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | (3) contain bold print, as determined necessary by the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | secretary, to adequately relate the instructions to an item on the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | application. |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | (b) The secretary shall prescribe instructions to be |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | printed along with the officially prescribed application form for |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | an early voting ballot in each language appropriate to the |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | demographic composition of this state in the form and manner |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | prescribed by Subsection (a). |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
