88 AN ACT
99 relating to confirmation of a voter's residence by a voter
1010 registrar.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Section 15.051(a), Election Code, is amended to
1313 read as follows:
1414 (a) The [If the registrar has reason to believe that a
1515 voter's current residence is different from that indicated on the
1616 registration records, or that the voter's residence address is a
1717 commercial post office box or similar location that does not
1818 correspond to a residence, the] registrar shall deliver to a [the]
1919 voter a written confirmation notice requesting confirmation of the
2020 voter's current residence if:
2121 (1) the voter's residence address is a commercial post
2222 office box or similar location that does not correspond to a
2323 residence;
2424 (2) on November 30 following a general election:
2525 (A) the voter's name is not on the suspense list;
2626 and
2727 (B) the voter has not voted in any election
2828 during the previous 25 months; or
2929 (3) the registrar has any other reason to believe that
3030 a voter's current residence is different from that indicated on the
3131 registration records.
3232 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
