11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 15.051(a), Election Code, is amended to | |
13 | 13 | read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | (a) The [If the registrar has reason to believe that a | |
15 | 15 | voter's current residence is different from that indicated on the | |
16 | 16 | registration records, or that the voter's residence address is a | |
17 | 17 | commercial post office box or similar location that does not | |
18 | 18 | correspond to a residence, the] registrar shall deliver to a [the] | |
19 | 19 | voter a written confirmation notice requesting confirmation of the | |
20 | 20 | voter's current residence if: | |
21 | 21 | (1) the voter's residence address is a commercial post | |
22 | 22 | office box or similar location that does not correspond to a | |
23 | 23 | residence; | |
24 | 24 | (2) on November 30 following a general election: | |
25 | 25 | (A) the voter's name is not on the suspense list; | |
26 | 26 | and | |
27 | 27 | (B) the voter has not voted in any election | |
28 | 28 | during the previous 25 months; or | |
29 | 29 | (3) the registrar has any other reason to believe that | |
30 | 30 | a voter's current residence is different from that indicated on the | |
31 | 31 | registration records. | |
32 | 32 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
