88 AN ACT
99 relating to the delegation of certain authority of a county judge in
1010 certain counties.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. The heading to Section 81.028, Local Government
1313 Code, is amended to read as follows:
1414 Sec. 81.028. DELEGATION OF DUTIES OF [A] COUNTY JUDGE IN
1515 CERTAIN COUNTIES [WITH POPULATION OF MORE THAN 1.5 MILLION].
1616 SECTION 2. Section 81.028(a), Local Government Code, is
1717 amended to read as follows:
1818 (a) This section applies only [exclusively] to a county
1919 judge in a county:
2020 (1) with a population of more than 1.5 million; or
2121 (2) with a population of at least 350,000 and not more
2222 than 370,000 that is adjacent to the Gulf of Mexico and adjacent to
2323 a county with a population of at least 3.3 million.
2424 SECTION 3. The heading to Section 81.029, Local Government
2525 Code, is amended to read as follows:
2626 Sec. 81.029. DELEGATION OF DUTIES OF [A] COUNTY JUDGE TO
2727 COUNTY COMMISSIONER IN CERTAIN COUNTIES.
2828 SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
