| 11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 106, Education Code, is | |
| 13 | 13 | amended by adding Section 106.315 to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | Sec. 106.315. BOARD OVERSIGHT OF SCHOOL OF LAW. (a) In | |
| 15 | 15 | this section, "administrator" has the meaning assigned by Section | |
| 16 | 16 | 51.948. | |
| 17 | 17 | (b) The board shall directly oversee the general management | |
| 18 | 18 | of the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern | |
| 19 | 19 | University. | |
| 20 | 20 | (c) Notwithstanding any other law or policy, each | |
| 21 | 21 | administrator of the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas | |
| 22 | 22 | Southern University shall report directly to the board as necessary | |
| 23 | 23 | or appropriate regarding any matter under the board's authority or | |
| 24 | 24 | control, in lieu of making a report to the president of the | |
| 25 | 25 | university. | |
| 26 | 26 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
