| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 86, Education Code, is | |
| 13 | 13 | amended by adding Section 86.25 to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | Sec. 86.25. USE OF MONEY FOR AGRICULTURE PROGRAMS. To | |
| 15 | 15 | provide equity in the receipt of federal grants to support | |
| 16 | 16 | agricultural research and extension programs at this state's land | |
| 17 | 17 | grant universities, Texas A&M University may not use money | |
| 18 | 18 | appropriated to the university for agricultural research and | |
| 19 | 19 | programs that qualifies as state matching funding for federal | |
| 20 | 20 | grants that support those programs at a ratio of state money | |
| 21 | 21 | appropriated to federal money granted for those programs for a | |
| 22 | 22 | state fiscal biennium that exceeds the ratio of state money | |
| 23 | 23 | appropriated to federal money granted for those programs to Prairie | |
| 24 | 24 | View A&M University for the same purpose for that biennium. | |
| 25 | 25 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
