77 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
88 AN ACT
99 relating to the small and mid-sized district allotment under the
1010 public school finance system.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Sections 48.101(b), (c), and (d), Education
1313 Code, are amended to read as follows:
1414 (b) A school district that has fewer than 1,600 students in
1515 average daily attendance is entitled to an annual allotment for
1616 each student in average daily attendance based on the following
1717 formula:
1818 AA = ((1,600 - ADA) X .0008 [.0004]) X BA
1919 (c) A school district that offers a kindergarten through
2020 grade 12 program and has less than 5,000 students in average daily
2121 attendance is entitled to an annual allotment for each student in
2222 average daily attendance based on the formula, of the following
2323 formulas, that results in the greatest annual allotment:
2424 (1) the formula in Subsection (b), if the district is
2525 eligible for that formula; or
2626 (2) AA = ((5,000 - ADA) X .00005 [.000025]) X BA.
2727 (d) Instead of the allotment under Subsection (b) or (c)(1),
2828 a school district that has fewer than 300 students in average daily
2929 attendance and is the only school district located in and operating
3030 in a county is entitled to an annual allotment for each student in
3131 average daily attendance based on the following formula:
3232 AA = ((1,600 - ADA) X .00094 [.00047]) X BA
3333 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
