10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 122, Election Code, is | |
12 | 12 | amended by adding Section 122.0332 to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | Sec. 122.0332. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR APPROVAL OF | |
14 | 14 | ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT. In addition to other requirements for | |
15 | 15 | approval, each unit of electronic equipment in a voting system must | |
16 | 16 | be equipped with software that: | |
17 | 17 | (1) tracks all input and activity on the electronic | |
18 | 18 | equipment; | |
19 | 19 | (2) is capable of creating a record of the information | |
20 | 20 | tracked under Subdivision (1); and | |
21 | 21 | (3) cannot be disabled. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
23 | 23 | to an election ordered on or after the effective date of this Act. | |
24 | 24 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
