| 13 | 13 | SECTION 1. Section 437.202, Government Code, is amended by | |
| 14 | 14 | adding Subsection (a-2) to read as follows: | |
| 15 | 15 | (a-2) For purposes of calculating the payment amount for a | |
| 16 | 16 | paid leave of absence from duties in a fiscal year for a person | |
| 17 | 17 | described by Subsection (a) who is classified as fire protection | |
| 18 | 18 | personnel, as defined by Section 419.021, a 24-hour work shift | |
| 19 | 19 | constitutes one work day. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
