 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to prohibiting insurers from requiring the bundling of
 personal automobile or residential property insurance policies.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  Subchapter B, Chapter 541, Insurance Code, is
 amended by adding Section 541.062 to read as follows:
 Sec. 541.062.  REQUIRED BUNDLING OF PERSONAL AUTOMOBILE OR
 RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY INSURANCE POLICIES. (a) In this section,
 "underwriting guideline" has the meaning assigned by Section
 38.002.
 (b)  It is an unfair method of competition or an unfair or
 deceptive act or practice in the business of insurance to require a
 consumer to purchase, or use an underwriting guideline or trade
 practice to require a consumer to purchase, a personal automobile
 or residential property insurance policy from the same insurer or
 the same insurer's affiliate as a condition for the issuance of
 another personal automobile or residential property insurance
 policy.
 SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
