68 AN ACT
79 relating to the payment of employment compensation by certain state
810 agencies.
911 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1012 SECTION 1. Section 659.082, Government Code, is amended by
1113 adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
1214 (c) A state agency listed in Subsection (a) may elect to pay
1315 employment compensation twice a month to an employee who holds a
1416 position classified in salary group A12, A13, A14, A15, A16, or A17
1517 under classification salary Schedule A in the General
1618 Appropriations Act. A state agency that elects to pay employment
1719 compensation twice a month under this subsection must satisfy the
1820 comptroller's requirements relating to the payment of compensation
1921 twice a month.
2022 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2123 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2224 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2325 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2426 Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
