11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Subtitle B, Title 10, Business & Commerce Code, | |
13 | 13 | is amended by adding Chapter 329 to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | CHAPTER 329. REGULATION OF BROADBAND PROVIDERS | |
15 | 15 | Sec. 329.001. DEFINITION. In this chapter, "broadband | |
16 | 16 | provider" has the meaning assigned by Section 253.0001, Utilities | |
17 | 17 | Code. | |
18 | 18 | Sec. 329.002. CONSPICUOUS DISPLAY OF PROVIDER NAME OR LOGO | |
19 | 19 | REQUIRED. An employee or contractor of a broadband provider that | |
20 | 20 | enters the real property of another located in this state to perform | |
21 | 21 | work on behalf of the provider shall: | |
22 | 22 | (1) wear a badge, name tag, or other distinctive | |
23 | 23 | clothing with the provider's name or logo in a manner that | |
24 | 24 | conspicuously identifies the person as an employee or contractor of | |
25 | 25 | the provider; and | |
26 | 26 | (2) if the person uses a motor vehicle on the property, | |
27 | 27 | affix in a conspicuous place on both sides of the vehicle the | |
28 | 28 | provider's name or logo. | |
29 | 29 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
