66 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
77 AN ACT
88 relating to prohibiting the denial of a driver's license renewal
99 for failure to appear in court, failure to pay a fine or cost, or
1010 failure to satisfy a judgment.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Section 133.124, Local Government Code, is
1313 amended to read as follows:
1414 Sec. 133.124. ALLOCATION OF FEES TO TRANSPORTATION
1515 ADMINISTRATIVE FEE ACCOUNT. The transportation administrative fee
1616 account is an account in the general revenue fund. The account
1717 consists of money allocated to the account under Section
1818 133.102(e). [Money in the account may be appropriated only to the
1919 Department of Public Safety to defray the administrative costs
2020 associated with implementing Chapter 706, Transportation Code.]
2121 SECTION 2. The following provisions of the Transportation
2222 Code are repealed:
2323 (1) Section 521.317;
2424 (2) Section 521.3452(b); and
2525 (3) Chapter 706.
2626 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
