77 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
88 AN ACT
99 relating to Medicaid coverage and reimbursement for certain
1010 cancer-related treatments or items.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 32, Human Resources Code,
1313 is amended by adding Section 32.0427 to read as follows:
1414 Sec. 32.0427. REIMBURSEMENT FOR CERTAIN CANCER-RELATED
1515 TREATMENTS OR ITEMS. The commission shall ensure that medical
1616 assistance reimbursement is provided to a health care provider for
1717 providing the following treatments or items in relation to cancer
1818 treatment:
1919 (1) physical therapy;
2020 (2) dental services related to the effects of
2121 chemotherapy or radiation, including:
2222 (A) oral surgery;
2323 (B) dental implants;
2424 (C) dental veneers; and
2525 (D) dentures;
2626 (3) compression garments, including:
2727 (A) sleeves;
2828 (B) gloves; and
2929 (C) gauntlets; and
3030 (4) mastectomy products, including:
3131 (A) shells;
3232 (B) shapers; and
3333 (C) prostheses.
3434 SECTION 2. If before implementing any provision of this Act
3535 a state agency determines that any other waiver or authorization
3636 from a federal agency is necessary for implementation of that
3737 provision, the agency affected by the provision shall request the
3838 waiver or authorization and may delay implementing that provision
3939 until the waiver or authorization is granted.
4040 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
