11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 212.201(a), Labor Code, is amended to | |
13 | 13 | read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | (a) A party aggrieved by a final decision of the commission | |
15 | 15 | may obtain judicial review of the decision by bringing an action in | |
16 | 16 | a county court at law or district court [of competent jurisdiction] | |
17 | 17 | for review of the decision against the commission on or after the | |
18 | 18 | date on which the decision is final, and not later than the 14th day | |
19 | 19 | after that date. | |
20 | 20 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
21 | 21 | to judicial review of a Texas Workforce Commission decision that | |
22 | 22 | becomes final on or after the effective date of this Act. Judicial | |
23 | 23 | review of a Texas Workforce Commission decision that becomes final | |
24 | 24 | before the effective date of this Act is governed by the law in | |
25 | 25 | effect immediately before the effective date of this Act, and the | |
26 | 26 | former law is continued in effect for that purpose. | |
27 | 27 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
