88 AN ACT
99 relating to judicial review of a Texas Workforce Commission
1010 decision in an unemployment compensation proceeding.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Section 212.201(a), Labor Code, is amended to
1313 read as follows:
1414 (a) A party aggrieved by a final decision of the commission
1515 may obtain judicial review of the decision by bringing an action in
1616 a county court at law or district court [of competent jurisdiction]
1717 for review of the decision against the commission on or after the
1818 date on which the decision is final, and not later than the 14th day
1919 after that date.
2020 SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only
2121 to judicial review of a Texas Workforce Commission decision that
2222 becomes final on or after the effective date of this Act. Judicial
2323 review of a Texas Workforce Commission decision that becomes final
2424 before the effective date of this Act is governed by the law in
2525 effect immediately before the effective date of this Act, and the
2626 former law is continued in effect for that purpose.
2727 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
