| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 92.103, Property Code, is amended by | |
| 12 | 12 | adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | (d) The tenant is entitled to receive the refund of a | |
| 14 | 14 | security deposit in the tenant's choice of: | |
| 15 | 15 | (1) a check, money order, or other traceable or | |
| 16 | 16 | negotiable instrument; or | |
| 17 | 17 | (2) a credit applied to the form of payment used to pay | |
| 18 | 18 | the security deposit, including a credit card or other electronic | |
| 19 | 19 | payment method. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
