11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 485, Government Code, is | |
13 | 13 | amended by adding Section 485.0245 to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | Sec. 485.0245. GRANT AMOUNT FOR CERTAIN MOVING IMAGE | |
15 | 15 | PROJECTS. (a) This section applies only to the following moving | |
16 | 16 | image projects with in-state spending of at least $3.5 million: | |
17 | 17 | (1) a feature film; | |
18 | 18 | (2) a television program; | |
19 | 19 | (3) a visual effect project for a feature film or | |
20 | 20 | television program; or | |
21 | 21 | (4) a digital interactive media production. | |
22 | 22 | (b) In calculating the amount of a grant awarded under | |
23 | 23 | Section 485.024, a moving image project described by Subsection (a) | |
24 | 24 | is eligible for a grant amount equal to at least 30 percent of: | |
25 | 25 | (1) the total amount of the project's eligible | |
26 | 26 | in-state spending, excluding wages of persons who are employed for | |
27 | 27 | the project; and | |
28 | 28 | (2) notwithstanding Section 485.024, the amount of | |
29 | 29 | wages the project paid to state residents employed to work in-state | |
30 | 30 | on the project. | |
31 | 31 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
