88 AN ACT
99 relating to the grant amount awarded to certain moving image
1010 projects under the moving image industry incentive program.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 485, Government Code, is
1313 amended by adding Section 485.0245 to read as follows:
1414 Sec. 485.0245. GRANT AMOUNT FOR CERTAIN MOVING IMAGE
1515 PROJECTS. (a) This section applies only to the following moving
1616 image projects with in-state spending of at least $3.5 million:
1717 (1) a feature film;
1818 (2) a television program;
1919 (3) a visual effect project for a feature film or
2020 television program; or
2121 (4) a digital interactive media production.
2222 (b) In calculating the amount of a grant awarded under
2323 Section 485.024, a moving image project described by Subsection (a)
2424 is eligible for a grant amount equal to at least 30 percent of:
2525 (1) the total amount of the project's eligible
2626 in-state spending, excluding wages of persons who are employed for
2727 the project; and
2828 (2) notwithstanding Section 485.024, the amount of
2929 wages the project paid to state residents employed to work in-state
3030 on the project.
3131 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
