| 11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. The Texas Transportation Commission shall | |
| 13 | 13 | designate any portion of State Highway 87 not designated as a | |
| 14 | 14 | hurricane evacuation route on the effective date of this Act as a | |
| 15 | 15 | hurricane evacuation route as soon as possible after the effective | |
| 16 | 16 | date of this Act. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 18 | 18 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 19 | 19 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 20 | 20 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 21 | 21 | Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
