| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. The heading to Section 372.053, Transportation | |
| 12 | 12 | Code, is amended to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 372.053. [VETERAN] DISCOUNT PROGRAM. | |
| 14 | 14 | SECTION 2. Sections 372.053(a) and (a-1), Transportation | |
| 15 | 15 | Code, are amended to read as follows: | |
| 16 | 16 | (a) A toll project entity: | |
| 17 | 17 | (1) may establish a discount program for electronic | |
| 18 | 18 | toll collection customers; and | |
| 19 | 19 | (2) if the entity establishes a program under | |
| 20 | 20 | Subdivision (1), shall establish a process by which the entity | |
| 21 | 21 | regularly updates electronic toll collection customer information | |
| 22 | 22 | to ensure that a customer described by Subsection (a-1) is able to | |
| 23 | 23 | receive free or discounted use of the entity's toll project. | |
| 24 | 24 | (a-1) A program established under Subsection (a) must | |
| 25 | 25 | include free or discounted use of the entity's toll project by an | |
| 26 | 26 | electronic toll collection customer: | |
| 27 | 27 | (1) whose account relates to a vehicle registered | |
| 28 | 28 | under Section 504.202 or 504.315(f) or (g); or | |
| 29 | 29 | (2) who is 65 years of age or older. | |
| 30 | 30 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
