| 13 | 13 | Code, is amended by adding Section 271.909 to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | Sec. 271.909. AUTHORITY OF POLITICAL SUBDIVISION TO ACQUIRE | |
| 15 | 15 | REAL PROPERTY OUTSIDE JURISDICTION. Except as otherwise provided | |
| 16 | 16 | by law, a political subdivision may not acquire by any method, | |
| 17 | 17 | including by gift, devise, lease, purchase, or eminent domain, real | |
| 18 | 18 | property outside the boundaries of any county that the political | |
| 19 | 19 | subdivision is located in. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
