| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 521.1251, Transportation Code, as added | |
| 13 | 13 | by Chapter 147 (S.B. 656), Acts of the 88th Legislature, Regular | |
| 14 | 14 | Session, 2023, is amended by adding Subsection (c) to read as | |
| 15 | 15 | follows: | |
| 16 | 16 | (c) A person who makes an election under this section may | |
| 17 | 17 | choose to include on the person's driver's license or personal | |
| 18 | 18 | identification certificate: | |
| 19 | 19 | (1) the designation "COMMUNICATION IMPEDIMENT"; or | |
| 20 | 20 | (2) another distinctive symbol authorized by | |
| 21 | 21 | department rule. | |
| 22 | 22 | SECTION 2. It is the intent of the 89th Legislature, Regular | |
| 23 | 23 | Session, 2025, that the amendment made by this Act to Section | |
| 24 | 24 | 521.1251, Transportation Code, be harmonized with another Act of | |
| 25 | 25 | the 89th Legislature, Regular Session, 2025, relating to | |
| 26 | 26 | nonsubstantive additions to and corrections in enacted codes. | |
| 27 | 27 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
