77 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
88 AN ACT
99 relating to requiring school districts to annually provide
1010 information regarding employee benefits to district employees,
1111 retired district employees, and their families.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 22, Education Code, is
1414 amended by adding Section 22.013 to read as follows:
1515 Sec. 22.013. INFORMATION REGARDING EMPLOYEE BENEFITS. (a)
1616 Each school year, a school district shall provide to district
1717 employees, employees who retired from the district, and their
1818 families information regarding the employee's benefits, including
1919 the employee's insurance, retirement, and death benefits.
2020 (b) A school district may provide the information required
2121 by Subsection (a) through an annual presentation given at the
2222 district. A district may contract with a human resources
2323 representative to provide the presentation.
2424 SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2025-2026
2525 school year.
2626 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2727 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2828 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2929 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3030 Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
