| 12 | 12 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 13 | 13 | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 1551, Insurance Code, is | |
| 14 | 14 | amended by adding Section 1551.1095 to read as follows: | |
| 15 | 15 | Sec. 1551.1095. ELIGIBILITY OF STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION | |
| 16 | 16 | MEMBERS. (a) Subject to Section 1551.351, on application to the | |
| 17 | 17 | board of trustees and arrangement for payment of contributions, an | |
| 18 | 18 | individual who is a member of the State Board of Education and not | |
| 19 | 19 | otherwise eligible under Section 1551.109 is eligible under this | |
| 20 | 20 | section for participation in a health benefit plan offered under | |
| 21 | 21 | this chapter. | |
| 22 | 22 | (b) A participant described by this section may not receive | |
| 23 | 23 | a state contribution for premiums. | |
| 24 | 24 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
