| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Subchapter Z, Chapter 214, Local Government | |
| 13 | 13 | Code, is amended by adding Section 214.909 to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | Sec. 214.909. RESTRICTION ON REGULATION OF MINIMUM PARKING | |
| 15 | 15 | REQUIREMENTS. (a) Notwithstanding any other law and except as | |
| 16 | 16 | provided by Subsections (b) and (c), a municipality may not adopt or | |
| 17 | 17 | enforce an ordinance, rule, or other regulation that requires a | |
| 18 | 18 | minimum amount of parking spaces for a commercial building. | |
| 19 | 19 | (b) This section does not restrict a municipality from | |
| 20 | 20 | regulating the provision of accessible parking designated for | |
| 21 | 21 | persons with disabilities in accordance with state or federal law. | |
| 22 | 22 | (c) This section applies only to a building the construction | |
| 23 | 23 | of which is completed on or after September 1, 2025. | |
| 24 | 24 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
