| 12 | 12 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 13 | 13 | SECTION 1. Section 784.001(5), Health and Safety Code, is | |
| 14 | 14 | amended to read as follows: | |
| 15 | 15 | (5) "Emergency service provider" means an individual | |
| 16 | 16 | who provides emergency response services or post-emergency | |
| 17 | 17 | response services, including: | |
| 18 | 18 | (A) a law enforcement officer; | |
| 19 | 19 | (B) a[,] firefighter; | |
| 20 | 20 | (C) an[,] emergency medical services provider; | |
| 21 | 21 | (D) a[,] dispatcher; | |
| 22 | 22 | (E) a[, or] rescue service provider; or | |
| 23 | 23 | (F) an attorney, an investigator, or another | |
| 24 | 24 | staff member for the office of a district attorney, criminal | |
| 25 | 25 | district attorney, or county attorney. | |
| 26 | 26 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
