| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Sec. 49.103, Water Code, is amended by adding | |
| 11 | 11 | Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 49.103. (b) Unless a district holds its general | |
| 13 | 13 | election for officers on a date as otherwise provided by statute, | |
| 14 | 14 | after confirmation of a district, an election shall be held on the | |
| 15 | 15 | uniform election date, provided by Section 41.001, Election Code, | |
| 16 | 16 | in May of each even-numbered year to elect the appropriate number of | |
| 17 | 17 | directors. | |
| 18 | 18 | (b-1) An election for municipal utility districts | |
| 19 | 19 | shall be held on the uniform election date, provided by Section | |
| 20 | 20 | 41.001, Election Code, in November of each even-numbered year to | |
| 21 | 21 | elect the appropriate number of directors. | |
| 22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
