| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 551.352, Transportation Code, is amended | |
| 12 | 12 | by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | (f) A person operating a motor-assisted scooter on a street, | |
| 14 | 14 | highway, sidewalk, or bicycle path in accordance with this section | |
| 15 | 15 | must attach to the back of the scooter a flag, in the manner | |
| 16 | 16 | prescribed by department rule. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 2. (a) Not later than December 1, 2025, the | |
| 18 | 18 | Department of Public Safety shall adopt rules necessary to | |
| 19 | 19 | implement Section 551.352(f), Transportation Code, as added by this | |
| 20 | 20 | Act. | |
| 21 | 21 | (b) Notwithstanding Section 551.352(f), Transportation | |
| 22 | 22 | Code, as added by this Act, a person is not required to comply with | |
| 23 | 23 | the requirements of that subsection until February 1, 2026. | |
| 24 | 24 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
