10 | 10 | to a woman seeking an abortion. | |
11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 171.014(d), Health and Safety Code, is | |
13 | 13 | amended to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | (d) The department shall annually review the materials to | |
15 | 15 | determine if changes to the contents of the materials are | |
16 | 16 | necessary. The executive commissioner shall adopt rules necessary | |
17 | 17 | for considering and making changes to the materials, including | |
18 | 18 | rules requiring the department to: | |
19 | 19 | (1) periodically submit the materials to the American | |
20 | 20 | College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists to verify that the | |
21 | 21 | materials are medically accurate; and | |
22 | 22 | (2) revise the materials to incorporate any | |
23 | 23 | recommendations from the American College of Obstetricians and | |
24 | 24 | Gynecologists for improving the medical accuracy of the materials. | |
25 | 25 | SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date | |
26 | 26 | of this Act, the executive commissioner of the Health and Human | |
27 | 27 | Services Commission shall adopt rules necessary to implement the | |
28 | 28 | changes in law made by this Act. | |
29 | 29 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
