11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 662, Government Code, is |

13 | 13 | | amended by adding Section 662.088 to read as follows: |

14 | 14 | | Sec. 662.088. VICTIMS OF THE UVALDE SHOOTING DAY. (a) May |
---|
15 | 15 | | 24 is Victims of the Uvalde Shooting Day in honor of the children |
---|
16 | 16 | | and teachers who were killed in Uvalde, Texas, on May 24, 2022. |

17 | 17 | | (b) Victims of the Uvalde Shooting Day is in memory of the |
---|
18 | 18 | | following 21 victims: Makenna Lee Elrod, Layla Marie Salazar, |
---|
19 | 19 | | Maranda Gail Mathis, Nevaeh Alyssa Bravo, Jose Manuel Flores Jr., |
---|
20 | 20 | | Xavier James Lopez, Tess Marie Mata, Rojelio Fernandez Torres, |
---|
21 | 21 | | Eliahna "Ellie" Amyah Garcia, Eliahna Cruz Torres, Annabell |
---|
22 | 22 | | Guadalupe Rodriguez, Jacklyn Jaylen Cazares, Uziyah Sergio Garcia, |

28 | 28 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |

29 | 29 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
---|
30 | 30 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
---|
31 | 31 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
---|
32 | 32 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
