11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 201.611, Transportation Code, is amended | |
13 | 13 | to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | Sec. 201.611. [COORDINATION OF] FLOOD CONTROL. (a) In the | |
15 | 15 | construction of its highway projects, the department shall: | |
16 | 16 | (1) coordinate with local flood control authorities to | |
17 | 17 | minimize the impact of flooding; and | |
18 | 18 | (2) add stormwater outfalls and other appropriate | |
19 | 19 | flood control measures to the project. | |
20 | 20 | (b) In adding flood control measures under Subsection | |
21 | 21 | (a)(2), the department shall take into consideration existing, | |
22 | 22 | proposed, and expected roadways in reasonable proximity to the | |
23 | 23 | highway project. | |
24 | 24 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
