| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 271.006(a), Election Code, is amended to | |

| 13 | 13 | (a) The governing bodies of the political subdivisions | |
| 14 | 14 | participating in a joint election shall [decide whether to] conduct | |
| 15 | 15 | their early voting jointly. The governing bodies [that decide to | |
| 16 | 16 | conduct joint early voting] shall appoint one of their early voting | |
| 17 | 17 | clerks as the early voting clerk for the joint early voting. | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 2. Section 271.006(d), Election Code, is repealed. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
