12 | 12 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
13 | 13 | SECTION 1. Section 21.048, Education Code, is amended by | |
14 | 14 | adding Subsection (a-3) to read as follows: | |
15 | 15 | (a-3) Notwithstanding Subsections (a) and (a-2), the board | |
16 | 16 | shall propose rules to exempt a person who is seeking certification | |
17 | 17 | under this subchapter and who holds a bachelor's degree in | |
18 | 18 | education from a general academic teaching institution, as defined | |
19 | 19 | by Section 61.003, from a requirement to take a certification | |
20 | 20 | examination otherwise prescribed by this section for the class of | |
21 | 21 | certificate the person is seeking. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
