| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 662, Government Code, is | |
| 13 | 13 | amended by adding Section 662.089 to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | Sec. 662.089. UNPLUG TEXAS DAY. (a) The third Monday in | |
| 15 | 15 | October of each year is Unplug Texas Day to encourage Texans to | |
| 16 | 16 | unplug from their electronic devices and plug into play, | |
| 17 | 17 | creativity, friendship, adventure, and family. | |
| 18 | 18 | (b) Unplug Texas Day may be regularly observed by | |
| 19 | 19 | appropriate programs and activities coordinated by state and local | |
| 20 | 20 | parks and recreation agencies and departments to promote the | |
| 21 | 21 | recreational opportunities available at parks and other recreation | |
| 22 | 22 | facilities. | |
| 23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
