| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 32, Penal Code, is amended | |
| 12 | 12 | by adding Section 32.515 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 32.515. GENDER IDENTITY FRAUD. (a) A person commits | |
| 14 | 14 | an offense if the person knowingly makes a false or misleading | |
| 15 | 15 | verbal or written statement to a governmental entity or the | |
| 16 | 16 | person's employer by identifying the person's biological sex as the | |
| 17 | 17 | opposite of the biological sex assigned to the person at birth. | |
| 18 | 18 | (b) An offense under this section is a state jail felony. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
