10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 382, Health and Safety | |
12 | 12 | Code, is amended by adding Section 382.0162 to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | Sec. 382.0162. REEVALUATION OF STATE AMBIENT AIR QUALITY | |
14 | 14 | STANDARD FOR BENZENE. If monitoring or modeling data indicates an | |
15 | 15 | area is exceeding or likely exceeding a national or state ambient | |
16 | 16 | air quality standard for benzene, the commission shall, as soon as | |
17 | 17 | practicable, reevaluate the state ambient air quality standard for | |
18 | 18 | benzene and update relevant exposure guidelines. | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
