| 11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 259.003, Election Code, is amended by | |
| 13 | 13 | adding Subsections (e) and (f) to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | (e) The governing body of each municipality shall publish on | |
| 15 | 15 | the municipality's Internet website: | |
| 16 | 16 | (1) a copy of any local regulation governing the | |
| 17 | 17 | placement of political signs in the municipality's boundaries; and | |
| 18 | 18 | (2) a map outlining any area in the municipality in | |
| 19 | 19 | which the placement of political signs is specifically regulated or | |
| 20 | 20 | prohibited. | |
| 21 | 21 | (f) The clerk or secretary of the governing body of a | |
| 22 | 22 | municipality shall provide a copy of the local regulations and map | |
| 23 | 23 | described by Subsection (e) to: | |
| 24 | 24 | (1) each candidate for an office in the municipality; | |
| 25 | 25 | (2) the elections officer of each political | |
| 26 | 26 | subdivision whose boundaries cross into or are contained in the | |
| 27 | 27 | municipality's boundaries; and | |
| 28 | 28 | (3) the county chair or clerk of each political party | |
| 29 | 29 | in the county in which the municipality is located or, if the seat | |
| 30 | 30 | is vacant, the state chair of that political party. | |
| 31 | 31 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
