| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 35.0022(a), Health and Safety Code, is | |
| 13 | 13 | amended to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | (a) In this chapter, "child with special health care needs" | |
| 15 | 15 | means a person who: | |
| 16 | 16 | (1) is younger than 21 years of age and who has a | |
| 17 | 17 | chronic physical or developmental condition; or | |
| 18 | 18 | (2) has cystic fibrosis or sickle cell disease, | |
| 19 | 19 | regardless of the person's age. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
