| 12 | 12 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 13 | 13 | | SECTION 1. Subtitle C, Title 5, Business & Commerce Code, is |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | amended by adding Chapter 121 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | CHAPTER 121. REGULATION OF COMMERCIAL PASSENGER BUS SERVICES |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Sec. 121.001. DEFINITION. In this chapter, "commercial |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | passenger bus service" means a business that operates a passenger |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | bus service that provides regularly scheduled intercity bus |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | transportation to passengers in exchange for compensation. |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Sec. 121.002. NOTIFICATION OF NEW BUS STOPS, TERMINALS, OR |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | OTHER INSTALLATIONS. (a) At least 90 calendar days before the date |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | a commercial passenger bus service begins operating a new bus stop, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | terminal, or other installation located in this state, the owner or |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | operator of the commercial passenger bus service shall provide |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | written notice of the stop, terminal, or installation to residents |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | who live within two miles of the stop, terminal, or installation. |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | (b) The notice required by this section must: |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | (1) be delivered by mail; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | (2) include the address or a description of the |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | location of the new bus stop, terminal, or other installation. |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
