| 10 | 10 | | required health curriculum for public school students in certain |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | grade levels. |

| 12 | 12 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 13 | 13 | | SECTION 1. Section 28.002, Education Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | adding Subsection (r-1) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (r-1) The State Board of Education shall by rule require |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | students in grades six through eight to receive instruction on the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | humanity of the unborn child and the concept that life begins at |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | fertilization as part of the essential knowledge and skills for the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | health curriculum under Subsection (a)(2)(B). To the extent the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | videos are publicly available, the instruction must include a |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | showing of the following each year: |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (1) LiveAction, Meet Baby Olivia (2025), |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | https://www.babyolivia.liveaction.org; |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | (2) St. John Paul II Life Center, A Glimpse Inside |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (2025), https://www.glimpseinside.org; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | (3) "The Miracle of Life," NOVA (PBS Feb. 15, 1983). |

| 27 | 27 | | SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2025-2026 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | school year. |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
