| 11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Chapter 57, Occupations Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | adding Subchapter D to read as follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | SUBCHAPTER D. WAIVER OF LICENSE RENEWAL FEES FOR CERTAIN |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | INSTRUCTORS IN HIGH-DEMAND FIELDS |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Sec. 57.151. WAIVER OF LICENSE RENEWAL FEES. (a) In this |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | section, "institution of higher education" has the meaning assigned |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | by Section 61.003, Education Code. |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (b) This section applies only to a license to practice as: |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (1) a registered nurse or vocational nurse under |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Chapter 301; |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (2) a pharmacist under Chapter 558; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (3) a medical radiologic technologist under Chapter |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | 601; |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (4) a respiratory care practitioner under Chapter 604; |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | (5) an engineer under Chapter 1001; |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | (6) a journeyman plumber or master plumber under |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Chapter 1301; |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | (7) an air conditioning and refrigeration contractor |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | under Chapter 1302; |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | (8) a journeyman electrician or master electrician |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | under Chapter 1305; |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | (9) an educator under Subchapter B, Chapter 21, |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Education Code; or |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | (10) a bilingual education or special language program |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | teacher under Section 29.061, Education Code. |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | (c) A state agency that issues a license to which this |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | section applies by rule shall waive the license renewal fee for a |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | faculty member as defined by Section 51.101, Education Code, or |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | adjunct professor at an institution of higher education who |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | provides instruction in the field for which the license is |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | required. |
|---|
| 43 | 43 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
