| 11 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 264.7541(c), Family Code, is amended to |
|---|
| 13 | 11 | | read as follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 12 | | (c) Once a child is placed with a relative or other |
|---|
| 15 | 13 | | designated caregiver, the department shall inform the caregiver in |
|---|
| 16 | 14 | | writing of: |
|---|
| 17 | 15 | | (1) the option to become verified by a licensed |
|---|
| 18 | 16 | | child-placing agency to operate an agency foster home, if |
|---|
| 19 | 17 | | applicable, and the process for becoming an agency foster home; |
|---|
| 20 | 18 | | (2) the difference between an unverified relative or |
|---|
| 21 | 19 | | other designated caregiver and an agency foster home, including the |
|---|
| 22 | 20 | | amount of additional financial assistance the relative or other |
|---|
| 23 | 21 | | designated caregiver would receive after becoming an agency foster |
|---|
| 24 | 22 | | home; |
|---|
| 25 | 23 | | (3) the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) |
|---|
| 26 | 24 | | program including: |
|---|
| 27 | 25 | | (A) the qualifications for the program; |
|---|
| 28 | 26 | | (B) the process for applying for benefits under |
|---|
| 29 | 27 | | the program; and |
|---|
| 30 | 28 | | (C) the amount of financial benefits under the |
|---|
| 31 | 29 | | program; |
|---|
| 32 | 30 | | (4) the availability of any financial assistance |
|---|
| 33 | 31 | | available under this subchapter; |
|---|
| 34 | 32 | | (5) [and |
|---|
| 35 | 33 | | [(2)] the permanency care assistance program under |
|---|
| 36 | 34 | | Subchapter K; and |
|---|
| 37 | 35 | | (6) any other financial benefit available to a |
|---|
| 38 | 36 | | relative or other designated caregiver. |
|---|
| 39 | 37 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
