86 AN ACT
97 relating to information made available to a relative or other
108 designated caregiver.
119 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1210 SECTION 1. Section 264.7541(c), Family Code, is amended to
1311 read as follows:
1412 (c) Once a child is placed with a relative or other
1513 designated caregiver, the department shall inform the caregiver in
1614 writing of:
1715 (1) the option to become verified by a licensed
1816 child-placing agency to operate an agency foster home, if
1917 applicable, and the process for becoming an agency foster home;
2018 (2) the difference between an unverified relative or
2119 other designated caregiver and an agency foster home, including the
2220 amount of additional financial assistance the relative or other
2321 designated caregiver would receive after becoming an agency foster
2422 home;
2523 (3) the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
2624 program including:
2725 (A) the qualifications for the program;
2826 (B) the process for applying for benefits under
2927 the program; and
3028 (C) the amount of financial benefits under the
3129 program;
3230 (4) the availability of any financial assistance
3331 available under this subchapter;
3432 (5) [and
3533 [(2)] the permanency care assistance program under
3634 Subchapter K; and
3735 (6) any other financial benefit available to a
3836 relative or other designated caregiver.
3937 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
