| 12 | 12 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 13 | 13 | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 13, Election Code, is | |
| 14 | 14 | amended by adding Section 13.009 to read as follows: | |
| 15 | 15 | Sec. 13.009. DISTRIBUTION OF APPLICATION. (a) Except as | |
| 16 | 16 | provided by Subchapter B, an officer or employee of a political | |
| 17 | 17 | subdivision of this state may not distribute a form on which a | |
| 18 | 18 | person may apply for registration to a person who did not request | |
| 19 | 19 | it. | |
| 20 | 20 | (b) An officer or employee of a political subdivision of | |
| 21 | 21 | this state may not use public funds to facilitate the distribution | |
| 22 | 22 | by another person of a form described by Subsection (a) to a person | |
| 23 | 23 | who did not request it. | |
| 24 | 24 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
