| 11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Chapter 1, Education Code, is amended by adding | |
| 13 | 13 | Section 1.014 to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | Sec. 1.014. COOPERATION WITH OFFICER ENGAGED IN | |
| 15 | 15 | IMMIGRATION-RELATED DUTIES. A school district or open-enrollment | |
| 16 | 16 | charter school may not: | |
| 17 | 17 | (1) grant a federal immigration officer or peace | |
| 18 | 18 | officer engaged in immigration-related investigation or | |
| 19 | 19 | enforcement duties access to a district or school campus without a | |
| 20 | 20 | judicial warrant; or | |
| 21 | 21 | (2) disclose in any manner to a federal immigration | |
| 22 | 22 | officer or peace officer engaged in immigration-related | |
| 23 | 23 | investigation or enforcement duties without a judicial warrant: | |
| 24 | 24 | (A) the education records of a student enrolled | |
| 25 | 25 | in the district or school or other information related to the | |
| 26 | 26 | student or the student's family or household; or | |
| 27 | 27 | (B) any information relating to a district or | |
| 28 | 28 | school employee. | |
| 29 | 29 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
