| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 201.614, Transportation Code, is amended | |
| 13 | 13 | by adding Subsection (c-1) to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | (c-1) The department may use money appropriated from the | |
| 15 | 15 | state highway fund that is not otherwise required to be spent on | |
| 16 | 16 | public roadways by the Texas Constitution or federal law to fund | |
| 17 | 17 | eligible projects for the construction and replacement of sidewalks | |
| 18 | 18 | under this section. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
