12 | 12 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
13 | 13 | SECTION 1. Section 7.057, Education Code, is amended by | |
14 | 14 | adding Subsection (a-2) to read as follows: | |
15 | 15 | (a-2) The commissioner shall provide written notice of an | |
16 | 16 | appeal under Subsection (a)(2) to: | |
17 | 17 | (1) the superintendent of the school district that is | |
18 | 18 | the subject of the grievance; and | |
19 | 19 | (2) the board of trustees of the school district that | |
20 | 20 | is the subject of the grievance. | |
21 | 21 | SECTION 2. Section 7.057(a-2), Education Code, as added by | |
22 | 22 | this Act, applies to an appeal submitted to the commissioner of | |
23 | 23 | education on or after the effective date of this Act. An appeal | |
24 | 24 | submitted to the commissioner of education before the effective | |
25 | 25 | date of this Act is governed by the law in effect on the date the | |
26 | 26 | appeal was submitted, and the former law is continued in effect for | |
27 | 27 | that purpose. | |
28 | 28 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
