10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 6.01, Tax Code, is amended by adding | |
12 | 12 | Subsections (d), (e), and (f) to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | (d) The name of an appraisal district must include the | |
14 | 14 | county code number assigned by the comptroller to the county in | |
15 | 15 | which the appraisal district is established. Except as provided by | |
16 | 16 | Subsection (e), the name of each appraisal district must be in the | |
17 | 17 | following form: | |
18 | 18 | "Appraisal District #(county code number)." | |
19 | 19 | (e) The name of a consolidated appraisal district that | |
20 | 20 | operates by interlocal contract under Section 6.02(b) must include | |
21 | 21 | the county code number assigned by the comptroller to each county in | |
22 | 22 | which an appraisal district that is a party to the contract is | |
23 | 23 | established and must be in the following form: | |
24 | 24 | "Appraisal District #(county code number) and #(county code | |
25 | 25 | number)." | |
26 | 26 | (f) The name of an appraisal district may not include the | |
27 | 27 | name of a county. | |
28 | 28 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
