10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 2154.202, Occupations Code, is amended | |
12 | 12 | by amending Subsections (g) (1) to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | (g) Except as provided by Subsection (h), a retail fireworks | |
14 | 14 | permit holder may sell fireworks only to the public, and only during | |
15 | 15 | periods: | |
16 | 16 | (1) beginning June 24 and ending at midnight on Sunday | |
17 | 17 | of the weekend following July 4, if July 4 is on a weekday. If July | |
18 | 18 | 4 is on a weekend the period ends at midnight on July 4; | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
20 | 20 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
21 | 21 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
22 | 22 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
23 | 23 | Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
