77 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
88 AN ACT
99 relating to Medicaid coverage and reimbursement for multisystemic
1010 therapy services.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Section 32.024, Human Resources Code, is amended
1313 by adding Subsection (oo-1) to read as follows:
1414 (oo-1) The commission shall provide medical assistance
1515 reimbursement to a health care provider who delivers services
1616 classified as multisystemic therapy by the Healthcare Common
1717 Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) code to a recipient under the
1818 medical assistance program. The executive commissioner shall
1919 establish a separate provider type for multisystemic therapy
2020 providers for purposes of enrollment as a provider for and
2121 reimbursement under the medical assistance program.
2222 SECTION 2. If before implementing any provision of this Act
2323 a state agency determines that a waiver or authorization from a
2424 federal agency is necessary for implementation of that provision,
2525 the agency affected by the provision shall request the waiver or
2626 authorization and may delay implementing that provision until the
2727 waiver or authorization is granted.
2828 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
