| 12 | 12 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 13 | 13 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 1701, Occupations Code, is |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | amended by adding Section 1701.171 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Sec. 1701.171. ACTIVE SHOOTER RESPONSE TRAINING ADVISORY |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | COMMITTEE. (a) The commission shall establish an advisory |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | committee to make recommendations to the commission regarding the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | active shooter response training program required under Sections |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | 1701.253(q), as added by Chapter 102 (S.B. 1852), Acts of the 88th |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Legislature, Regular Session, 2023, and 1701.3525, including |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | recommendations related to the content and implementation of the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | training program. |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (b) The advisory committee consists of five members |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | appointed by the commission. |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (c) Chapter 2110, Government Code, does not apply to the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | size or composition of the advisory committee. |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | SECTION 2. It is the intent of the 89th Legislature, Regular |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Session, 2025, that the amendments made by this Act be harmonized |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | with another Act of the 89th Legislature, Regular Session, 2025, |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | relating to nonsubstantive additions to and corrections in enacted |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | codes. |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
