77 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
88 AN ACT
99 relating to the revocation of a driver's license and to
1010 disqualification from operating a commercial motor vehicle.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. The heading to Section 521.348, Transportation
1313 Code, is amended to read as follows:
1414 Sec. 521.348. AUTOMATIC REVOCATION FOR CERTAIN SEX
1515 OFFENDERS AND TERRORISTS.
1616 SECTION 2. Section 521.348(a), Transportation Code, is
1717 amended to read as follows:
1818 (a) A driver's license is automatically revoked if the
1919 holder of the license:
2020 (1) is subject to the registration requirements of
2121 Chapter 62 or 65, Code of Criminal Procedure; and
2222 (2) fails to apply to the department for renewal of the
2323 license as required by Article 62.060, [or] 62.2021, or 65.058,
2424 Code of Criminal Procedure, as applicable.
2525 SECTION 3. The following provisions of the Transportation
2626 Code are repealed:
2727 (1) Section 521.297(b); and
2828 (2) Section 522.087(b).
2929 SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
